ABB Millenium 13A Fused Connection Unit with Flex and LED White Glass AM50853-WG

Confirm the model number AM50853-WG, 13A current rating, 230V AC supply, 1-gang format, fused connection unit configuration, flex outlet, LED indicator, White Glass finish and flush-mounting requirements. Also verify back-box compatibility, connected appliance load, required fuse rating and compliance with the project's electrical drawings and relevant UAE authority specifications.

Switch off and isolate the circuit before maintenance. Clean the faceplate with a soft, dry or lightly damp microfiber cloth, and avoid abrasive pads, solvent-based cleaners or excessive moisture. Periodic electrical inspection should check for heat discolouration, loose mounting, damaged flex, abnormal LED operation or signs of terminal overheating; electrical repairs must be performed by a qualified electrician.

The White Glass finish provides a clean, premium appearance that coordinates well with contemporary villas, apartments, hotels, offices and retail interiors in the UAE. Its flush-mounted format conceals permanent wiring and supports a neat handover finish. Product samples should be checked against lighting, wall colour and other Millenium accessories when exact finish matching is important.

It can be considered for indoor locations where the electrical design permits, but its position must comply with applicable rules for proximity to water, wet-area zones and environmental exposure. It should not be treated as weatherproof or water-resistant unless ABB documentation confirms an appropriate IP rating. For kitchens, bathrooms or utility spaces, the installer must assess moisture, splash risk and local authority requirements.

It may only be used where the equipment's normal operating current, starting characteristics and manufacturer's connection requirements are compatible with a 13A, 230V AC fused connection unit. Many air conditioners, large water heaters and other high-load appliances require a higher-rated double-pole isolator or dedicated circuit. A qualified electrician or project engineer should confirm the correct accessory before installation.

The fuse must not exceed the unit's 13A rating and should be selected to protect the appliance flex, connected equipment and downstream wiring. A lower-rated fuse may be necessary for some appliances. The correct rating must be determined from the equipment manufacturer's instructions, cable capacity and approved circuit design rather than automatically fitting a 13A fuse.

Yes. It is suitable for coordinated installation in new-build and refurbishment projects where a flush-mounted 13A fused spur is specified. During construction, electrical conduits, cable routes and the back box should be positioned before plastering or wall finishing. The White Glass faceplate should be protected from dust, paint, grout, impact and abrasive cleaning until final handover.

This is a 1-gang flush-mounted accessory with an 86 x 86 mm face size and a stated overall depth of 42 mm. The electrician should select a compatible flush box with enough internal depth for the device, conductor bend radius and secure terminations. On blockwork, concrete, drywall or decorative wall systems, the box should be installed square and level with the finished surface before final decoration.

The electrical supply must first be safely isolated and verified as dead. A qualified electrician should install the unit in a compatible flush box, prepare the conductors correctly, terminate line, neutral and earth as indicated by the manufacturer's markings, secure the appliance flex through the intended outlet arrangement, fit the correct fuse and attach the faceplate without overtightening. The installation must then be inspected and electrically tested before energisation.

The integrated LED provides a visible indication of the switch or connected-circuit status, helping users identify whether local power control is active. The exact indication can depend on the terminal configuration, so the unit must be wired according to ABB's installation diagram and the intended project design.

Its 230V AC rating is suitable for the nominal low-voltage supply commonly used in the UAE. Final suitability must be confirmed against the connected load, circuit design, project specification and the requirements of the relevant UAE authority, such as DEWA, ADDC, SEWA or the applicable local utility. Installation and testing should be completed by a qualified electrician.

A 13A fused connection unit, often called an FCU or fused spur, is used to connect and isolate a fixed or semi-fixed appliance while providing fuse protection appropriate to the appliance and cable. The flex outlet allows the appliance cable to exit neatly from the faceplate. Typical applications may include water heaters, kitchen equipment, ventilation equipment and other compatible loads, subject to the appliance manufacturer's instructions and the approved electrical design.

The unit has a rated current of 13A and a rated voltage of 230V AC. It is configured as a 1-gang fused connection unit with local switching, a cable flex outlet and LED status indication. Its stated dimensions are 42 x 86 x 86 mm, and it is intended for flush mounting with the fixed wiring concealed behind the finished wall.

The ABB Millenium AM50853-WG is a 1-gang, flush-mounted fused connection unit designed to provide local control and fused protection for a fixed electrical appliance or circuit. It features a flex outlet, an LED status indicator, secure wiring terminals and a White Glass finish suitable for premium residential, commercial and hospitality interiors.
