You can apply dry for crisp lines, then brush water over the stroke to blend. Layer multiple passes to build depth, and use water to transform shading into smooth washes with a metallic sheen.

Best on good-quality watercolor paper (200–300gsm or heavier). Cold-pressed or hot-pressed watercolor papers work well for washes, while lighter papers can be used for experiments. Test a swatch on scrap first.
