It can charge compatible low-power USB devices through its USB-C and USB-A outputs, including many smartphones, action cameras, GPS units, headlamps, rechargeable torches, wireless earbuds and small power banks. Charging compatibility and speed depend on the device, cable, sunlight intensity and the device's charging protocol. It is not intended to power heavy construction tools, laptops or high-demand site equipment.

The hat has a rated solar output of up to 12W under favourable sunlight. Actual output varies with solar intensity, time of day, cloud cover, shading, panel angle, surface cleanliness and ambient conditions. Strong, direct UAE sunlight generally provides better performance than indoor light or shaded conditions, but 12W should be treated as a peak rating rather than a guaranteed continuous output.

No fixed installation is required. Wear the hat in an open, sunny area, locate the required USB-A or USB-C output, and connect the device using a compatible charging cable. Keep the solar brim exposed to direct sunlight and avoid covering it with clothing or equipment. Confirm that the connected device displays its charging indicator, then disconnect the cable before folding, storing or cleaning the hat.

The two outputs allow two compatible small devices to be connected for convenient daytime charging. Available solar power is shared and changes with sunlight, so connecting two devices may reduce the charging speed delivered to each one. For more stable performance, place the hat in unobstructed sunlight and charge one device at a time when solar conditions are weak.

The integrated monocrystalline PERC cells have a stated conversion efficiency of approximately 23–24%. Their placement around the brim supports light capture from multiple directions while the wearer moves outdoors. Efficiency does not mean the hat will always supply its maximum output; shadows from buildings, scaffolding, machinery, trees or the wearer's body can reduce charging performance.

It can be useful for engineers, supervisors, survey teams and workers who need supplementary charging for phones or small USB accessories during outdoor inspections and light-duty site activities. Its UPF 50+ coverage and IP65-rated construction are relevant to sunny, dusty UAE environments. However, it is not a certified industrial safety helmet and must never replace mandatory head protection, high-visibility PPE or other controls required by the site risk assessment and applicable UAE occupational safety rules.

Do not place the hat over, under or modify a safety helmet unless the helmet manufacturer and site safety officer explicitly approve the arrangement. Doing so could affect helmet fit, retention, ventilation or protective performance. On sites where certified head protection is compulsory, use the required helmet and position the solar hat separately in sunlight to charge a compatible device only if site procedures permit it.

IP65 indicates protection against dust ingress and resistance to water jets under specified test conditions. This makes the hat suitable for typical dust, light rain and splashes encountered during hiking, gardening, fishing or outdoor work. It is not waterproof for swimming, submersion or pressure washing. The strong sunlight available in the UAE can support solar generation, but very high temperatures may affect charging performance and the connected device's thermal protection. Avoid leaving the hat, phone or power bank inside a parked vehicle or on hot metal and concrete surfaces. If the connected device becomes unusually hot or displays a temperature warning, disconnect it and move it to a shaded, ventilated location before resuming use.

Use it outdoors with the solar brim fully unfolded and exposed to direct sunlight. Minimise shadows from cranes, scaffolding, buildings, trees and other equipment, and reposition as the sun moves. Clean solar surfaces capture light more effectively. Charging through glass, inside a vehicle or under deep shade will normally produce significantly less power than unobstructed outdoor exposure.

It is useful as a supplementary daytime charging option for communication and navigation devices during outdoor activities or site visits. Output depends directly on available sunlight, so it should not be the only emergency power source. For critical communication, carry a charged power bank, suitable cables and an independent backup plan.

Disconnect all devices before cleaning. Remove dust and sand gently with a soft, dry cloth, and use a lightly damp cloth for minor marks if permitted by the manufacturer's care instructions. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, pressure washers or sharp tools on the solar cells. Keep debris out of the USB ports and allow the hat to dry completely before reconnecting any device.

Store it clean and dry in a cool, ventilated place away from direct heat, sharp objects and heavy loads that could damage the solar brim. Disconnect all cables before packing and avoid tight folds or crushing. With a net weight of approximately 0.37 kg, it is portable for camping, hiking, gardening and mobile site work, but careful packing helps protect the integrated cells and connectors.
