Product

Fosroc Nitotile EN (grey, 25 kg bag) — a high-performance, polymer-modified, deformable and waterproof cementitious adhesive for the permanent fixing of ceramic wall and floor tiles, including porcelain and fully vitrified tiles, ceramic mosaics, quarry tiles, dark natural stone, terrazzo and brick slips; also for fixing EPS-based insulating and acoustic boards. Manufactured by Al Gurg Fosroc, Dubai.

Standards

classified C2TE S1 to EN 12004 (improved cementitious adhesive, slip-resistant, extended open time, deformable) and classified to ANSI A118.4.

Typical Uses

wet areas — kitchens and bathrooms; swimming pools and totally submerged conditions; marble tiles up to 40 kg/m² on vertical surfaces; heavy elements such as brick slips and concrete tiles; bridges, underpasses and high-rise buildings; external claddings.

Performance (EN 12004-2)

tensile adhesion 28 d > 1.4 N/mm²; after water immersion > 1.2 N/mm²; after heat ageing > 1.3 N/mm²; open time 30 min > 0.5 N/mm²; transverse deformation > 2.5 mm; slip < 0.5 mm. Shear strength (ANSI 118.4, 7 d): glazed wall tile 2.2 N/mm², porcelain mosaic 1.67 N/mm².

Working Data

density 1.65 kg/L; application temperature +5 to +40 °C; pot life 6 h; adjustability approx. 40 min; wall grouting after 4–8 h, floor grouting after 24 h; light foot traffic after 24 h; ready for use 14 days; VOC < 1 g/L; non-flammable.

Mixing & Application

add 25 kg powder to 6.25 L clean water and mix 3 min with a slow-speed drill and paddle until lump-free. Spread 2–10 mm on sound, clean concrete, cement screed or cement/lime mortar and comb; use double spreading for extra-large tiles or uneven substrates. Bed tiles with a twisting motion within the open time (about 1 m² at a time); leave 2 mm minimum joints. Prime gypsum board with diluted Nitobond PVA (1:3) first. Grout after 24 h with Nitotile XS Grout.

Yield & Coverage

approx. 18.4 L per 25 kg bag; coverage depends on substrate profile, tile size/back profile and notch trowel.

Limitations

do not apply below +5 °C and falling or expose to moving water during application.

Storage & Safety

12 months shelf life in dry conditions in unopened bags. Contains cement — alkaline when wet; wear gloves, eye protection and dust mask (SDS available).
