Ku-jaku is described as smudge-resistant on typical writing paper once dry, but it is not fully waterproof under water or sustained immersion.

Wet nibs (such as broad or medium) and slower papers tend to reveal more of Ku-jaku’s shading and tonal range, making it ideal for expressive writing.

With your pen’s filling mechanism (converter or piston), submerge the nib into the ink and operate the filler to draw ink into the reservoir. Repeat until filled, then wipe excess ink from the nib and section.

Iroshizuku inks are intended for fountain pens and are generally safe to handle. Avoid ingestion; if ink contacts skin, wash with soap and water, and keep out of reach of children.
