WD-40 is classified as an extremely flammable aerosol and poses aspiration toxicity risks if ingested. It may cause eye irritation and should be used in well-ventilated areas, away from heat and ignition sources.

WD-40 operates effectively within a temperature range of -60°F to 300°F (-50°C to 150°C), making it suitable for various applications, from outdoor tools to machinery in extreme conditions.

WD-40 protects against corrosion by creating a barrier that prevents moisture from contacting metal surfaces. It has a corrosion protection effectiveness of 0-20% in 72 hours, depending on the application.

While WD-40 is compatible with most surfaces, it can cause certain types of rubber to swell or soften wax coatings. It is recommended to test on a small area first, especially on plastics and rubbers, to ensure compatibility.

WD-40 should be stored in a cool, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight and heat sources. The storage temperature should not exceed 50°C (122°F) to prevent pressure build-up in the aerosol can.
